Following on from the council’s declaration of a climate emergency, we held a climate change summit, which brought together national and local organisations, experts and individuals to discuss both what more the council can do to tackle the climate emergency, but also what local residents, businesses and other organisations can do to help. Southwark is committed to becoming carbon neutral by 2030, but we know that we cannot achieve this without action from central government, businesses and individuals, so we will continue to engage and work together with partners in the community to reduce our emissions and make our borough more environmentally friendly.
