Lambeth Council – Corporate Carbon Reduction Plan

In July, Lambeth published its first Corporate Carbon Reduction Plan, which sets out how Lambeth Council's operations will be carbon neutral by 2030. This was produced off the back of Lambeth becoming the first London borough to declare a climate emergency and bring forward its target for becoming carbon neutral to 2030.

The plan covers the council’s entire operations looking at improving the energy efficiency of the council’s estate, transport, corporate energy and governance and procurement. It includes a plan to phase in a fully ultra-low/zero emission vehicle fleet, target to procure a fully clean corporate energy supply by 2030 at the very latest and a new policy that decisions taken by the council will now include a carbon impact assessment.

It is a live and dynamic plan which is being worked on with the feedback from local environmental groups to ensure that the plan is as ambitious as possible.
