Durham County Council – Business Energy Efficiency Project

The Business Energy Efficiency Project (BEEP) is an ERDF funded project that has run since 1st October 2016. BEEP works with small and medium sized businesses across the Durham County Council area, helping them to reduce their energy costs. The project provides independent analysis of a business’s existing practices via an in-depth energy audit and data analysis. The resulting, bespoke recommendations report provides the business with cost-effective options for generating financial savings through energy reductions.

Over 220 businesses to date have received free energy audits, practical support with installing measures, and grant support to assist. The BEEP project has worked with Government departments BEIS and MHCLG to establish a national support network for all the ERDF funded SME energy projects in England and to help influence future national programmes, including support for the Huddle on line support tool.
